He served his carpentry apprenticeship in the Cowichan Valley where he stayed on to be involved in many building as well as design projects. For the last forty years he worked in Cowichan. He has experience in sorting out what people need in a building, whether it is a wood shed, a new home, a renovation or a larger commercial building. His interests and knowledge lie in reasons for building. He provides practical advice coupled with conceptual drawings and plans, in order that people can visualize how the project fits together.
Building orientation and design, that address the needs of the client are usually affected by a list of things. Henk’s years of experience and interest in this part of building allows him to make some useful contributions to any project.
Henk has a woodworking shop at home as well as the tools required to complete most building projects. He also has a good relationship with Cowichan Valley sub-trades as well as the planning and inspection authorities.
